Domaine Viticole Clemens Busch

« Pour moi, vigneron écologique depuis longtemps, il est important d’intégrer d’autres aspects de la viticulture durable à ma façon de travailler. De plus, le système FAIR’N GREEN permet à un nombre de plus en plus grand de vignerons pratiquant une viticulture traditionnelle de développer à l’avenir une pratique écologique et durable. »

The Wine Grower

Clemens and Rita Busch took over the vineyard in 1986, whose name was firstly documented in 1802, and have been working according to the criteria of organic viticulture ever since. In the meantime together with son Florian, who is among others in charge of the bio-dynamic aspects. The old manor house of the family is located directly at the banks of the river Mosel with view on the vineyards of the Marienburg. The wine vault was relocated to the flood free part of Pünderich.

The sitings

First sitings Pündericher Marienburg and Pünderichers Nonnengarten, 11 hectares towards South to South- East on the opposite river banks of Pünderich. Each siting has its own micro climate on autonomous soil. The answer: individual cultivation of each parcel of land, to show the character of each terroir – Falkenlay, Fahrlay, Rothenpfad and slate terrace – and many more.

The wines

Delicately balanced dry wines with intensive minerality – in years with high ripeness also with some remaining sweetness. Slow fermentation with own yeasts and slow yeast contact. From Gutswein, also in variations from red and gray slate, to Lagenwein and Grosse Gewächse. Late and vintage and Auslese. Through strict selection of the Botrytis grapes multiple times awarded noble sweet Beeren and Trockenbeeren Auslese.
