„The long winegrowing tradition at our winery on Bavarian Lake Constance shows us how important it is to deal responsibly with nature, but also with the people in and around the winery. FAIR'N GREEN is the partner for us to take further important steps towards comprehensively sustainable viticulture in the future.“
- Josef Gierer
VINEYARD GIERER
Vineyard Gierer is a classic family business that unites three generations under one roof. The farm is located in Nonnenhorn and its vineyards are located directly on the fertile shores of Lake Constance. The winery has been family-owned for over 300 years and has set itself the goal of the highest quality in both grape production and winemaking. With the FAIR'N GREEN certification, the winery is strengthening its commitment to sustainability and is positioning itself for the future.

The Gierer family now cultivates over six hectares of vineyards, of which about 70% are planted with white grape varieties. In the cool climate of Germany's southernmost vineyards, the winery focuses primarily on Müller-Thurgau, but also has Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Bacchus in its portfolio. The red wines matured in traditional wooden barrels are mainly Pinot Noir and Cabernet Cortis. The specialities of the winery also include rosé and the regionally typical Rotling.
In addition to the winemaking trade, the Gierer family is also active in the hospitality industry and offers a variety of accommodation and tasting opportunities on the winemaking farm in their own vinotheque.
