“We are memebers of the FAIR’N GREEN association, because the concept of analysing the production process from the vineyard to the bottle, with regard to sustainability, has convinced us. To our understanding, social, ecological and economical aspects have to be taken into consideration in all aspects of the wine making process and can not be limited to a single step. Responsibility for this needs to be measurable.”

At wine estate Othegraven, winemaker Andreas Barth and owner Günther Jauch are working hand in hand to revive and live up to the Saar regions past reputations. The winery is located at the rather colder sister of the Moselle. On steep vineyards and rough schist soils, the family Othegraven and their descendants produce wine since 1805.

On 15 hecatres, the winery concentrates its production completly on Riesling. Subtle, full bodied and with a unique character, the wines from their top vineyards Kanzemer Altenberg and Ockfener Bockstein are adequately rewarded with 4 out of 5 stars by DER FEINSCHMECKER. Besindes being a member of the VDP the winery holds a memebership of FAIR’N GREEN since 2014, and commits itself to sustainable viniculture.
