Weingut Mindnich

„We were very enthusiastic about the holistic concept of Fair'n Green. It extends our decades of commitment to environmentally friendly viticulture to include many more areas in the complete operation".

Sustainability is an important issue for us; preserving the fertility of the soil for future generations is just as important as climate protection and economic as well as social sustainability. Fair'n Green is much more than "just a certification". The common exchange helps us here to constantly review and improve our own position and our actions. The Mindnich winery is a small family business on the Nahe. Judith and Klaus Mindnich jointly cultivate 7 hectares of vineyards. Over 50% of the vineyard is planted with Riesling. In addition to Riesling, they also grow Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Scheurebe, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer.

In and around Wallhausen there are four fundamentally different soil types: slate, gravel, loess loam and Rotliegendes. The Riesling reflects the different soil types particularly strongly. That is why we also grow Riesling on three of these soil types, so that our estate wines produce a variety of aromas. The estate wines are grown exclusively in the Johannisberg, Felseneck and Steinrossel sites. The vines, some of which are over 40 years old, produce particularly mineral wines with their low yields. Our family has been growing wine here for many generations. The old traditional viticultural methods serve as the basis of our activities. In addition, the incorporation of new knowledge leads to the continuous development of the farm and the wine quality.
